{"id":253,"date":"2021-07-31T22:10:30","date_gmt":"2021-07-31T22:10:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wendycarter.website\/?p=253"},"modified":"2021-07-31T22:12:18","modified_gmt":"2021-07-31T22:12:18","slug":"white-fields","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wendycarter.info\/?p=253","title":{"rendered":"White Fields"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Have you ever seen a field of buckwheat growing with tiny white flowers?&nbsp; It\u2019s beautiful!&nbsp; Gary and I visited the Lavender Farm just outside of Milton recently \u2013 one of our favourite spots.&nbsp; Near a field of purple lavender buckwheat had been planted on well-drained soil.&nbsp; The contrast between the purple and white was lovely.&nbsp; I have never really paid much attention to this grain-like plant which is highly nutritious.&nbsp; My sister purchases dark coloured buckwheat honey and I\u2019m sure you have heard of buckwheat pancakes.&nbsp; Gary is into making buckwheat porridge for breakfast and has actually lost some weight.&nbsp; As a good source of protein, fibre and being glutton free, buckwheat is beneficial for heart health, diabetes control, sleeplessness and energy.&nbsp; This adventure reminded me once again that you can never be too old to learn about something you never knew before.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Looking at this wonderful white field, it also reminded me about Jesus talking with his disciples in John 4:35.\u00a0 He encouraged them, \u201cBehold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The town of Milton is a white field.&nbsp; Many are ready to hear about Jesus even though they have no idea who He is, what He is like or how He can change their lives for the good.&nbsp; Our three missionaries have made over 13,000 contact attempts and this week we have sent out our second mailing to over 500 contacts that have been made.&nbsp; If COVID obeys itself, we plan to launch Sept. 26.&nbsp; One of those missionaries, along with her husband, is going to help  with music and children\u2019s programming so we are encouraged. &nbsp;We are now holding Sunday services at Ned\u2019s Restaurant as before.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Another white field to harvest is Myanmar where our friend Thomas is ministering.&nbsp; Times continue to be desperate there due to the terrible government and COVID.
