Gary has been busy the last number of Saturday mornings creating a new walkway from our back porch to our barn where he has his workshop and office.\u00a0 We discovered we had quite a few flagstones on our property so all we needed to purchase was several bags of limestone to build the foundation up and bags of pea gravel to go between the stones.\u00a0 It took a bit of figuring out as to where to place the flagstones, both big and small.\u00a0 Even though he doesn\u2019t like working on jigsaw puzzles as I do, it was a similar activity.\u00a0 End result? It\u2019s lookin\u2019 good, and rainwater no longer puddles up there which can get quite icy in the winter.\u00a0 Plus, Gary has been able to rebuild his muscles somewhat after his heart surgery a couple of years ago.\u00a0 Maybe next year he will get to build another walkway at the front of our house.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seems we are always trying to figure out where to place the next flagstone in our life\u2019s walkway for the best outcome. Do you do that? The Bible says a lot about how to walk, e.g. faithfully, obediently, blamelessly, lovingly, humbly, wisely, with integrity.\u00a0 I was taken by an interesting verse in Proverbs 9:6 which records, \u201cLeave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of insight.\u201d\u00a0 In our imaginations we could label each flagstone with one of these positive characteristics as we tread on them day by day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are still trying to find the best walkway to well establish our Hillside Church in Milton.\u00a0 Last Sunday we had our official launch; but disappointingly only four newcomers from the neighbourhood showed up.\u00a0 Actually, we were quite shocked since about 50 agreed they would attend.\u00a0 Yesterday, one gentleman told Scott Lockhart, our Outreach Pastor who was doing follow-up, that he had completely forgotten about it.\u00a0 Scott was our anchor man last week for connecting with our 600 contacts.\u00a0 Many more replied that they would come this next Sunday so we will see what happens.\u00a0 God only knows; He has to be the motivator.\u00a0 In the meantime, we will just keep plugging along.\u00a0 One item of praise is that Scott has obtained a new job in Milton which he started this week.\u00a0 Also, we finally got our funding yesterday from the Canada Summer Jobs program for which we have waited for a long time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As with so many other countries in despair, could you please continue to pray for Myanmar?\u00a0 Thank you!\u00a0 We have three contact families there.\u00a0 One person reported that he knew of 158 pastors that had passed away due to COVID from June to August.\u00a0 There are no hospitals or doctors due to the military coup.\u00a0 If they give food to someone in need they could be arrested if they are reported to the military.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
