{"id":303,"date":"2022-06-30T01:04:20","date_gmt":"2022-06-30T01:04:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wendycarter.website\/?p=303"},"modified":"2022-07-01T01:35:58","modified_gmt":"2022-07-01T01:35:58","slug":"good-hearing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wendycarter.info\/?p=303","title":{"rendered":"Good hearing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>One of my favourite birds is the red-breasted robin.\u00a0 God has created this creature of the air with very distinct characteristics.\u00a0 Often, we find them on the ground searching for worms in our backyard.\u00a0 Their hearing must be incredible.\u00a0 They take a few hops, stand very still, cock their head to listen and quickly dive for their prey. How can they hear that quiet worm sliding through the soil below?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>My family members were saying I needed to get my hearing tested so last year I finally made an appointment.\u00a0 No aids were needed for me; however, I made an appointment for Gary.\u00a0 He was the one with the bad hearing and ended up buying a pair of these listening devices as he had 40% loss of high pitch sounds in one ear.\u00a0 Who knew?\u00a0 Actually, he has been very grateful for them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>One of my favourite Bible stories is found in Mark 7:33-35. Here we find Jesus healing a deaf man. \u201c\u2026 some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk,\u00a0and they begged Jesus to place his hand on\u00a0him. After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man\u2019s ears. Then he spit\u00a0and touched the man\u2019s tongue.\u00a0He looked up to heaven\u00a0and with a deep sigh\u00a0said to him,\u00a0<em>\u201cEphphatha!\u201d<\/em>\u00a0(which means\u00a0\u2018Be opened!\u2019).\u00a0At this, the man\u2019s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened, and he began to speak plainly.\u201d\u00a0 It is really hard to imagine how he felt.\u00a0 Unexpectedly, He was given a new life and a new perspective on that life.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our Hillside story continues with its ups and downs. Scott Lockhart is very grateful that he is feeling so much better these days after his stomach treatments.\u00a0 His motivation has increased so he can accomplish many more tasks. He is planning to develop his own business which will help scheduling with his two girls over the summer months.
