{"id":32,"date":"2018-11-30T10:06:00","date_gmt":"2018-11-30T15:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wendycarter.info\/?p=32"},"modified":"2018-11-30T10:06:00","modified_gmt":"2018-11-30T15:06:00","slug":"plogging-anyone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wendycarter.info\/?p=32","title":{"rendered":"Plogging Anyone?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi All!<\/p>\n<p>Do you happen to be a plogger?\u00a0 You\u2019ve never heard of it before?\u00a0 Neither had Gary and me.\u00a0 One day out walking and picking up garbage in Churchville which has become a somewhat regular pattern for us, we met up with two ladies jogging with their dogs.\u00a0 Gary remarked to them that they pick up after their dogs and we pick up after humans.\u00a0 One of the ladies yelled out, \u201cThe term is plogging.\u201d as she ran off. Upon returning home, Gary consulted Google and learned, \u201c<em>Plogging<\/em>\u00a0is a combination of jogging with picking up litter (Swedish: plocka upp). It started as an organized activity in Sweden around 2016 and spread to other countries in 2018, following increased concern about plastic pollution.\u201d\u00a0 Way to go, Sweden! Actually, we should be called \u201cplolkers\u201d since we are not joggers, only walkers.\u00a0 Interesting.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t you find the older you get the more useless information you collect in your brain?\u00a0 The other day Gary was quoting from Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss that he had read to our children when they were really young.\u00a0 Sam I Am didn\u2019t like green eggs and ham. Now, where did that come from?\u00a0 If only we could find a way to become ploggers of the brain to be able to kick such unwanted mind stuff to the curb.\u00a0 If only we could be better followers of the Apostle Paul\u2019s example when he muses in Philippians 3:7-9, \u201cBut whatever were gains to me I now consider loss\u00a0for the sake of Christ.<strong><sup>\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing\u00a0Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ<strong><sup>\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>and be found in him \u2026 \u201c I am musing too.<\/p>\n<p>On a more praiseworthy note, we are excited for Aaron and Sara Bouchard who get to move from Brampton to their own rental space this coming Saturday to the south side of Milton.\u00a0 They have done a lot of travel between the two places over the past two months for church and painting business purposes.\u00a0 They are so looking forward to living on their own particularly as Sara is expecting their third child in the spring.\u00a0 Thank you for your prayers on their behalf. Please continue to pray for Scott &amp; Candice Lockhart and their two little girls in Sarnia as they are experiencing some difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, Pastor Joe Boyachek (see previous blog), finally met his Maker this past Monday after being in a hospice for a few days.\u00a0 The funeral will be this coming Saturday.\u00a0 Please pray for his family left behind and the future they will be facing without him.\u00a0 One son said to his mom, \u201cWhat will we do without Dad?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Our daughter, Sara Burton, will be presenting an Old Testament synopsis at our church from Canada\u2019s Walk Through the Bible this coming Sunday, Dec 2 and returning Dec 16 for the conclusion.\u00a0 This event will be very meaningful for our attenders that haven\u2019t read much of the Bible before.<\/p>\n<p>May you enjoy this Christmas as never before with your family and friends,<\/p>\n<p>Wendy<\/p>\n<p>Wendy.carter@kainos.org<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi All!
