{"id":343,"date":"2023-02-28T19:56:43","date_gmt":"2023-02-28T19:56:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wendycarter.info\/?p=343"},"modified":"2023-02-28T19:59:36","modified_gmt":"2023-02-28T19:59:36","slug":"determination-or-just-plain-stubbornness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wendycarter.info\/?p=343","title":{"rendered":"Determination or Just Plain Stubbornness"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Have you ever been stared down by two large dark chocolaty-brown deer eyes?&nbsp; The other day a couple of deer decided to saunter through our backyard up to our kitchen bay window.&nbsp; They probably were determined to check out the bright flowers on my plants on the window ledge to see if they could snatch some tasty petals to snack on.&nbsp; Did they understand that the glass wouldn\u2019t really allow that?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About once a week a determined squirrel scampers up the wall portion underneath that same bay window to try and reach a plastic container of seed affixed to the window outside.\u00a0 He then attempts to climb the glass, but in his stubbornness, he quickly learns that that is not possible particularly when I pound on the window to scare him off.\u00a0 He and his buddies do get their fair share of seed from our seed station (Do they not know it is \u201c<u>bird<\/u> seed?\u201d) and from the suet containers hanging from a nearby tree even if they have to hang upside down themselves to retrieve their treat.\u00a0 Oh well, even in my stubbornness I will never be able to chase away these pesky creatures.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Did you remember to look at Gary\u2019s GoFundMe page (<a href=\"https:\/\/MyanmarOrphans.ca\">https:\/\/MyanmarOrphans.ca<\/a>) for our friend Thomas in Mayanmar who is building an orphanage?&nbsp; We have raised some funds but still need more for him to finish the electrical and build a well on his property.&nbsp; He is one determined man with a compassionate heart for his country\u2019s needy children.&nbsp; Every $20 one-time gift will go a long way in achieving his goals for his self-sustaining orphanage.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>After meeting for our Hillside Sunday services at Swiss Chalet for the past two months we are still very grateful for God\u2019s answered prayers.&nbsp; All we need is attenders to check us out who are very weary and distracted these days.&nbsp; On the other hand, we do believe that having our own permanent space would be extremely advantageous.&nbsp; Scott Lockhart is currently negotiating with a few people regarding purchasing a property on Main St. in Milton for our church use plus establishing a caf\u00e9 (think nicer than a Starbuck\u2019s) to help with operational costs and to reach into the community to develop relationships.&nbsp; We would also like to allow social service organizations to meet in this facility during the week.&nbsp; We have the possibility of an investor, but it still would need God\u2019s miraculous hand of intervention on our behalf.
