{"id":39,"date":"2018-12-30T18:47:26","date_gmt":"2018-12-30T23:47:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wendycarter.info\/?p=39"},"modified":"2018-12-30T18:47:26","modified_gmt":"2018-12-30T23:47:26","slug":"thinking-about-the-word-new","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wendycarter.info\/?p=39","title":{"rendered":"Thinking about the Word &#8220;New&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Happy New Year Everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you have any idea what the word \u201ckainos\u201d (pronounced \u201cki\u201d as in\nkind and \u201cnos\u201d as in nostalgia) means?&nbsp;\nIt is the Greek word for \u201cnew.\u201d&nbsp;\nGary and I own a business called Kainos Enterprises primarily for the\nsale of our various books plus any church consulting work.&nbsp; We also have a charity called Kainos\nInternational Ministries through which we have raised funds for orphanages in\nMyanmar, receipted for other endeavours; such as missionary work in Honduras\nand for our son, Rob\u2019s many short-term missionary trips across the world and\nhave helped with the financial records of some new church plants (Hillside\nChurch in Milton included).&nbsp; Our basic mandate\nfrom the beginning has been the involvement of any new Christian project or\nidea to help get it started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2019 affords another opportunity to focus on new events, concerns,\ninterests etc. that may or may not unexpectedly come around the corner for us\nall. &nbsp;My thoughts immediately travel to\nour Hillside Church which should have been well established by now; but sadly,\nthrough some setbacks it is important for us to determine a new schedule for\nour pathway to reach out to those who don\u2019t know anything about Jesus Christ.&nbsp; We are, however, very excited that one\ngentleman who has attended our church for over six months now declares that he\nhas a new life found in Christ.&nbsp; We are\nhungry for more through our Sunday services at East Side Marios that are really\nworking out well.&nbsp; We like their poster\non the wall, \u201cCome empty, leave full.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>December has been a rough \u201cgo\u201d for Sara and Aaron Bouchard.&nbsp; They did move into a new rental place at the\nbeginning of the month which has been positive, but they have had to face some unexpected\nproblems along the way in their unsettled state.&nbsp; Their family has had to deal with a lot of\nsickness, even to the point of their two-year old daughter, Everleigh, landing\nin the hospital last week with pneumonia for a few days.&nbsp; Please pray for encouragement and wisdom for\nthem in regard to Hillside\u2019s future along with financial stability for their painting\ncontract business.&nbsp; Upon a happier note\nthey are very much looking forward to the new arrival of their third child in\nApril.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some are familiar with Lamentations 3:22-24, \u201cBecause of the\u00a0Lord\u2019s great love\u00a0we are not consumed,  for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, \u2018The\u00a0Lord\u00a0is my portion; therefore, I will wait for him.\u2019\u201d\u00a0 Whether we have experienced God\u2019s new compassion for us every morning or every year, whatever we do we can have hope to keep going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New blessings for you in 2019!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wendy<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wendy.carter@kainos.org<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy New Year Everyone!
