Walking Through Doors

Sep 30

Hello!

Are you familiar with Terre Bleu Lavendar farm located northwest of Milton?  Gary and I visited there this past August.  This farm is a very relaxing, peaceful place with its 35,000 lavendar plants, some English and some French. A unique feature standing at the top of a hill of one of the fields is a yellow door.  You some how are compelled to line up with other visitors and walk the path between the lavender rows to this door with its inscription across the top, “Walk thru the door, your worries behind you, your joys are ahead!”  Open the door, walk through and you find yourself contemplating what your future will be like.

Over the last few weeks Gary and I have been sprucing up our front porch with its white railings by sanding and painting.  It has been a big job; but we are quite pleased with its clean look particularly with our front door which we painted a warm heritage blue.  If you come for a visit and walk through that door, we will try our best to give you a warm welcome.  Every time we walk through that door to the outside world, we wonder what will happen in the days ahead.  COVID is on the increase again which terribly affects the network of your family and ours.  For the first time, this dread virus has reached Moosonee where our son Rob and his family reside.  Rob is very vulnerable with his history of poor health.

Your prayers for our ministry are again being answered. Scott Lockhart has been able to find a great apartment just north of Milton.  His new landlord and wife seem very friendly and caring.  He moves in tomorrow.  He has been contending with bed bugs for the past couple of months so hopefully these annoying insects will not move in too.  Now he has to find a new job that will work well with his family and church schedule.  We have made about 160 ponderers through the faithful calling of our three young ladies. Please pray for them to be able to handle this work plus other heavy responsibilities such as schooling.  Some of these contacts have received three weekly mailings so far.  Pray that they will read this material sent and respond positively. Our government funding for this program will finally arrive in a couple of days.  Yay!  Anna, one of our callers from Heritage College & Seminary, will become an intern working in our church along with Cameron, another intern from Heritage.  Our launch Sunday is planned for Sunday October 25; however, with the increase of COVID will we be able to keep that date? We must leave all that uncertainty in God’s all-knowing hands. (facebook.com/hillsidechurchmilton/live).

Many of us like the verse found in Revelations 3:20, “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.”  God’s plan for the lives of people whom we meet in Milton is very simple.  Please pray that they will be courageous enough to give our church a “try” and thus embark on an unforgettable future with Him.

Have an enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend!
